Young, black, and Republican

An interview with some black republicans:

I tend not to necessarily equate "Republican" with "conservative" anymore, given that Republicans politicians in the last decade or so seem to have forgotten their conservative principles. Of course, that's assuming they had any to begin with, other than the quest for personal power. There are exceptions, but they appear to be a small minority. Heck, when was the last time you heard a federal politician even mention the Constitution? Or talk of a federal government of limited and enumerated powers (and vote in accordance with this principle)?

What we seem to have now are the two major parties scrambling over themselves to see who can be more profligate, more wasteful, more big government than the other. Basically, we have two species of "progressives", the Democrats and the Republicans. Currently, the Dems, the authentic "progressives" are winning this race to totalitarian power, given that they have had a lot more practice.
