Disturbing photographs made available to this newspapers by police sources indicate that several of the guests at the Taj Mahal Hotel during the siege November 26 were sexually humiliated by the terrorists and then shot dead.

Police sources confirm that even as the terrorists were engaged in a fierce combat with NSG commandos, they were humiliating their hostages before ending their terrifying ordeal.

Foreign guests were their particular target. Eight of the 31 killed at the Taj were foreign nationals.

Photographs taken by a police forensic team after the hotel was sanitised yield a gruesome picture of some of the guests in the nude.

"Even the Rabbi and his wife at Nariman House were sexually assaulted and their genitalia mutilated," said a senior officer of the investigating team, not wishing to be quoted.

Article here. My perspective is that in this sort of situation you either escape or fight back! Escape will often be highly preferable, given that you'll likely be severely outnumbered and outgunned, and your attackers will likely be prepared and determined. If you're with loved ones, their safety is your first priority, and escape will often be the best way of protecting them. Escaping, of course, may involve killing anyone in your way who presents an immediate lethal threat to you or your loved ones. Your goal is to escape and protect your family; killing your attacker(s) may simply be a necessary condition to achieving that goal. Prepare your mindset accordingly.

If you can't escape, you may as well fight. After all, if you're going to die at the hands of terrorists (or violent criminals), you may as well die fighting. Don't let yourself be restrained. Plan on personally delivering one-way express tickets to hell to as many of your would-be murderers as you can. Look at it this way: if you're going to die anyway, what do you have to lose? Who knows, with luck you might create enough confusion and tactical advantage to effect your (and/or your loved ones') escape. Either escape or fight back! Don't have a gun? So what? A gun (or knife, bludgeon, etc.) is merely a tool; you are the weapon. Adapt, improvise, overcome. Never give up!
